Tottenham bounced back from last weekend's 4-0 loss to Liverpool with a thumping 5-1 win over struggling Sunderland at White Hart Lane.
Tim Sherwood got a much needed win tonight as his Spurs demolished relegation-threatened Sunderland, recovering from last weekend's thrashing at the hands of Liverpool to claim a well deserved three points. Spurs did't have it all their own way though, as Black Cats midfielder Lee Cattermole gave Gus Poyet's side the lead on 17 minutes, but two goals from Emmanuel Adebayor as well as strikes from Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Gylfi Sigurdsson handed Tottenham a comfortable win.
There was a surprise in the line-up though as Sherwood chose to go with Kane up front with Adebayor, and the England Under-21 international impressed hugely with a goal and an assist, staking a claim for a regular spot in the first team in the process.
Tottenham fans were delighted to bag a win, but were obviously pleased with Kane's contribution tonight, with many praising Sherwood for his faith in the youth at the club, whilst some even suggested that Kane is a better option in the Spurs side than big money signing Roberto Soldado.
