All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Manchester City midfielder David Silva is currently suffering an ankle complaint that means he must sit out some training sessions reports the Manchester Evening News.

The Spanish maestro will be vital to the Blues as they look to claim the title in the tightest race in years, but Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Silva is currently managing his injury.

He’s playing very well,” the Chilean said. “And it’s with double merit because he’s playing with his ankle that he has to stop two or three days during the week.”

What that means for his World Cup campaign this summer remains to be seen, although his club manager did add, “He played the last two games without a problem and now we have a whole week before we play against Liverpool. So I don’t think he will have any problems.”

In other news, the Daily Mail claims the Blues have held talks with Sergio Aguero as they attempt to keep him out of the clutches of Real Madrid.

The Spanish side have been linked with a move for the former Atletico Madrid man, but the latest report claims city owner Sheik Mansour spoke to Aguero last week to underline the club’s desire to keep the Argentine for the long term.

And finally, the Express reports that Inter Milan are prepared to sell goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to City in order to fund a move for FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez.

That is one of the more tenuously-linked transfer stories, but with doubts remaining over the long-term future of Joe Hart it could be viable, if City miss out on apparent target Victor Valdes.
