Romelu Lukaku may have turned on the light above Arsenal boss' head yesterday.
Romelu Lukaku was too good for the Arsenal defence yesterday and in direct contrast Olivier Giroud struggled to make any impact on the Everton defence as he led the Arsenal attack.
The Belgian front man continues to be linked with a move away from Chelsea, his parent club, and he offered Arsene Wenger a chance to watch his game up close and personal.
The Gunners need another centre forward this summer. It’s clear that Giroud is struggling to cope with the pressure of leading the Arsenal attack on his own and extra competition and motivation could benefit him greatly.
Lukaku outperformed Giroud in five key attacking areas and Wenger could be tempted into making a move for the forward if the reports that Jose Mourinho wants to sell him this summer are true.

Mourinho may be less willing to sell to a direct rival but should they sign a high profile forward of their own, he may be more open to the idea.
Arsenal could offer Lukaku Champions League football and he’d inject that dominance, bullying and aggressive aspect into the Arsenal attack which is currently missing.
There’s also the frosty relationship between the clubs which would make a deal difficult to come together.
Mourinho and Wenger are two managers who haven’t exactly been overly complimentary of each other in the past and the Portuguese selling the Frenchman one of his best youngsters is difficult to fathom.
The reasons Giroud has gone off the boil are open to debate but at the moment, the Gunners have no high profile centre forward who can come in with a proven Premier League track record and improve things quickly.
Lukaku is certainly one player who would help their attack move forward.
