Does Higuain's anger at substitution open Arsenal door?

Gonzalo Higuain Argentina

Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain reacted with fury to being taken off during a defeat against Parma, which Arsenal may have noted with interest.

Napoli were defeated by high-flying Parma 1-0 at the Stadio Tardini last night as the Partenopei's mixed season continues.

And on a night of frustration for Napoli, there was a flashpoint involving star striker Gonzalo Higuain, who was taken off after 68 minutes for Duvan Zapata.

Higuain initially looked surprised at Rafa Benitez's decision and then made an angry gesture as it was confirmed that he was the man coming off.

The Corriere dello Sport reports that Higuain shouted: 'Why am I coming off? Wrong!" at Benitez as he made his way to the bench.

The tension between the two men may have been noted by Arsenal who are reportedly still keen on Higuain and considering a summer swoop for the man they missed out on last summer.

Arsenal were in talks with Real Madrid over Higuain and the Argentine international's agent and father met with Gunners officials.

However, Napoli pounced to the joy of their fans and Higuain has since insisted that he has no regrets and never believed he would join Arsenal.

It has been suggested that Napoli will struggle to hold on to Higuain at the end of this season after his impressive displays.

Napoli don't have the financial clout to match some of Europe's other top sides and it has been rumoured that Arsenal could step in to try and finally get their man.
