CONFIRMED: Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland line-ups - Surprise starter for Spurs!

Here are the sides Tim Sherwood and Gus Poyet have selected this evening, kick-off from White Hart Lane at 20:00 GMT.

Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris, Naughton, Chiriches, Kaboul, Rose, Lennon, Chadli, Paulinho, Eriksen, Adebayor, Kane

Subs: Friedel, Fryers, Veljkovic, Bentaleb, Sandro, Sigurdsson, Townsend

Sunderland: Mannone, Bardsley, Alonso, Brown, Cuellar, Vergini, Ki, Bridcutt, Cattermole, Johnson, Borini

Subs: Larsson, Gardner, Wickham, Colback, O'Shea, Scocco, Ustari

Tottenham can go back above Manchester United with three points this evening in front of their own fans.

Tim Sherwood’s men are on a bad run of form, which has seen them secure just one win in their last six games which was that dramatic comeback at home against Southampton.

The boss will be looking for an instant reaction after his side were thumped 4-0 in their last game by current league leaders Liverpool.

Spurs’ problem seems to be scoring goals as they’ve managed 40 all season, which is the fewest of any side currently in the top eight.

It won’t be easy against a Sunderland side scrapping towards the bottom of the league.

The Black Cats sit right at the very bottom of the Premier League in desperate need of a win to start climbing the table and to try and get out of trouble.
