Bayern Munich's David Alaba says he was thrilled to play against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Versatile Bayern Munich star David Alaba has given his thoughts on playing against Manchester United at Old Trafford, and says he was thrilled to be there.

Only 21, the full-back is already a Champions League winner and has played at many famous grounds across Europe, and says the Theatre of Dreams was another famous one to tick off on his checklist.

The £30 million rated defender told Austrian newspaper Kurier: "It was an incredible atmosphere."

"Going there was another dream come true. Now I know almost every major stadium in Europe. Milan's missing me."

The Bayern star went onto add that for him however, it did not quite evoke the same emotions as the stadium of his own team:

"Our Allianz Arena in Munich is naturally one of the best. There, do I feel truly comfortable."

Intriguingly, Alaba said Bayern were unlikely to give much focus to United's tactics for the second leg, but its' nothing personal, insisting what they do themselves is of greater importance.

"We are a team that does not look at the opponent. We have to play our game. Coach Guardiola will certainly set us right again."

How much truth there is to that is unclear, as you would imagine a coach of Pep Guardiola's experience would conduct in depth analysis on potential weakness the Red Devils may have.

Alaba himself recently signed a new contract at Bayern, and has expressed a desire to move into central midfield as he bids to develop his career.

Should the Germans suffer any further injuries to add to their suspensions in the position, and Bayern have cover at full-back, the match against United could even end up as his big opportunity.
