Liverpool are certainly not short of goals from their strikers as they push towards a first top-flight title in more than 20 years, with Sturridge and Suarez netting just under 50 Premier League goals between them.
The Reds do, however, lack striking options beyond their lethal SAS partnership and Swiss wonder Michael Frey has been reported as a summer target.
The 19-year-old Swiss U21 international striker has been a regular for Swiss Super League side Young Boys this season, netting six goals in 24 appearances.
Standing at 6ft 2inch, the youngster would certainly offer Liverpool a new dimension and he will give boss Brendan Rodgers’ more flexibility when changing systems.
With fellow strikers Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas out of favour and perhaps likely to return to Spain this summer, a new frontman may become a necessity for the Premier League title-chasers this summer.
According to the Daily Star, Liverpool are watching Michael Frey with a view to making a £5m bid for the star this summer.
Frey’s impressive campaign hasn’t gone unnoticed, and Liverpool aren’t alone in their interest as Juventus and German side Borussia Monchengladbach are also allegedly impressed by the youngster’s emerging talent.
