Shinji Kagawa's fan club is growing as he begins to show what he can do on a consistent basis for Manchester United.
His talent was never in doubt. Anyone who had seen him play for his former club Borussia Dortmund knew exactly what he was capable of. But having been in and out of the side at Old Trafford - first due to injury and latterly because of squad rotatation - it is only in recent weeks that the Japanese international has been able to develop some kind of consistency in his game since his move.
After performing very well against Bayern Munich when he came on to replace Ryan Giggs at the start of the second-half, Kagawa found himself starting against Newcastle United on Saturday, and he shone in tandem with Juan Mata, Javier Hernandez and Adnan Januzaj.
After the match, Kagawa took to Instagram to post a message to his fans.
'Good win today, great team effort,' he wrote. 'Thanks for your great support. Looking forward to next game.'
That next game is also a vital one, away to Bayern, and the only question is whether or not Kagawa will play. Surely, given his recent performances and his record against the Bundesliga champions, David Moyes has to pick him...right?
