Marouane Fellaini is walking a tightrope with his penchant for leading with the elbow.
Manchester United are celebrating this evening as they continued their impressive away form this season by defeating Newcastle United 4-0 at St James Park.
The result was more than fair as a poor Newcastle side showed very little in the way of resistance against a rampant United - who won thanks to goals from Juan Mata (2), Javier Hernandez and Adnan Januzaj in the North-East.
United are having something of a decent run of form - especially on the road - and will now go into the midweek game against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final full of confidence.
But one player who has been something of a maligned figure since arriving at the club in the summer was causing himself problems again.
Marouane Fellaini was a big money signing from David Moyes’ former Everton side in the summer - but the Belgian has been criticised by his own fans for much of the season for his somewhat clumsy approach to midfield domination.
And he has also been a lucky boy on a number of occasions this campaign when it comes to the use of those pointy bends in the middle of your arm.
Fellaini has a reputation for leading with the elbow - and Pablo Zabaleta can tell you everything you need to know about the anatomy of the joint after the Manchester derby recently.
Today the victims were Dan Gosling and Luuk de Jong - both getting their faces planted into by the bony arm structure of Fellaini.
And he was even caught on camera.
To be fair to him he is a tall lad and not the most graceful so the occasional bump is expected - but the amount of times it occurs is now seeing him being accused of using his elbows on purpose.
But you be the judge…
