Everton host Arsenal at Goodison Park on Sunday in one of the most intriguing Premier League games this month.
The Toffees go into the game off the back of a perfect March, winning all five games including an excellent 3-0 victory over Newcastle United at St. James Park.
Arsenal, on the other hand, have struggled of late, winning just two of the last eight games and in contrast picking up just five points out of a possible 15 in March.
It has seen Roberto Martinez’s men close the gap on the injury-hit Gunners to just four points in the race for the last Champions League spot, with Everton playing a game less.
Luckily for the Gunners, history is on their side and Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup quarter-final clash at the Emirates extended their unbeaten run against the hosts to an impressive 14 games.
Michael Owen, however, is favouring the form team and believes Everton will truimph a closely contested game.
“Everton are another team who are devilishly difficult to beat at home, and they were the better side in a 1-1 draw at the Emirates in the league, though they were put in their place when Arsenal thumped them 4-1 there in the FA Cup.” He wrote in his Colossus Connoisseur blog.
“But Everton come into this game with the more convincing end-of-season profile, and I can see a home win here, and I am going 2-1 and 1-0.”
Interestingly, Michael Owen predicted Arsenal to finish fifth at the beginning of the season, therefore he may just be secretly hoping for a home win come Sunday afternoon.
