It has been a long time coming, but Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey returned to training on Saturday, with the Gunners in desperate need of their Welsh wizard in what remains of the season.
Prior to his thigh muscle injury that has ruled him out since the end of last year, Ramsey had scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions. Arsenal were also top of the Premier League, one point clear of Manchester City with 18 games played.
But in the intervening period the Gunners have slipped down to fourth, and go into Sunday’s match against Everton knowing that a loss would see the Toffees just a point behind them and with a game-in-hand.
In short, Ramsey’s return is timely in the extreme, and while we are sure you have now all seen the pictures of the 23-year-old back in training, he later took to Twitter to post a message to his followers.
In typically succinct fashion he wrote, ‘Good to be back’ and we are sure the Arsenal fans agree wholeheartedly with that.
