Here is how Manchester City and Southampton will line up for this afternoon’s match:
Manchester City starting XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Kompany, Kolarov, Navas, Fernandinho, Toure, Nasri, Silva, Dzeko
Subs: Pantilimon, Lescott, Richards, Garcia, Milner, Jovetic, Negredo
Southampton starting XI: Gazzaniga, Chambers, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw, Cork, Schneiderlin, Davis, Lallana, Rodriguez, Lambert
Subs: Cropper, Clyne, Wanyama, Ward-Prowse, Guly, Hooiveld, Gallagher
Manchester City may still have their Premier League destiny in their own hands, but that is unlikely to make things any easier as we reach the home-straight of the most exciting title-race in years.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men will know they have to win in today’s early kick-off to lay down a marker for the sides playing after them; but slip up against Southampton and it could be curtains for another season.
The Saints have a very impressive record against today’s opposition, losing only three of their last 10 league matches against them. That said, City have beaten them on their last three visits to the Etihad.
Pellegrini is still without the injured Sergio Aguero, while Mauricio Pochettino cannot call on Maya Yoshida.
What do you think the result will be this afternoon?
