Which current Arsenal star has legend Pires branded 'the complete player'?

Robert Pires has been signing the praises of the often underrated Santi Cazorla.

Robert Pires is undoubtedly one of the best players to play in an Arsenal shirt - and is still revered today as a legend of the club.

No longer playing football he sends much of his time nowadays talking about it - and that is exactly what he has been doing today.

Pires has been speaking from Vietnam where he is part of the Uefa Champions League Trophy Tour Event.

The official Facebook page for the Uefa Champions League have run an official Q&A session today with both Pires and former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy - and obviously there was plenty of response from fans.

Pires is never one to shirk opinion - so the answers would always be truthful, and when asked which player he ‘admires’ the most in the current Arsenal team he was in no doubt about the answer - and it might come as a surprise.

He said:

“I like Cazorla because he's got great ability, technique and vision. Left foot, right foot - he's the complete player.”

When Arsenal signed Mesut Ozil in the summer their previous summer signing from 12 months previous was in danger of being forgotten.

But he still remains an integral part of the team and one who often slips under the radar.

There is no wonder why Pires likes him. Similar in style to the former Frenchman the Spanish international was always a likely answer.

Cazorla has had his moments this campaign - but it is certainly not up to the standard of his excellent debut season.

Pires backs him and he is popular with the fans but competition now is fierce at the club and next season - if Ozil is firing - Cazorla could see the bench more and more.

Pires doesn’t want to see that, and not many an Arsenal fan would either - so it is important not to forget just how talented this lad is.

I mean, if Pires says so…?
