The top five players linked with signing for Arsenal this week: Mandzukic, Morata and more

Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Lyon, Juventus and Borussia Monchengladbach stars all feature.

Arsenal’s recent run of results hasn’t exactly gone the way that Arsene Wenger would have been hoping for.

The side go into this weekend’s game against Everton looking for an important win after a bad defeat and two draws in the Premier League, which has virtually ended their Premier League title challenge.

Wenger needs to make further additions to his squad this summer along the same lines as the deal which saw Mesut Ozil join the club at the back end of the last transfer window.

Here are five of the best players linked with signing for Arsenal this week.

Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich)

Any Arsenal fans who have been following this feature over the last couple of weeks will notice that this isn’t a new link. The Bayern forward continues to be linked with the Gunners, as he’ll likely consider his position at the German club this summer after the arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund.

Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid)

The Gunners are reportedly still right in the hunt to sign the Los Blancos hit man who could move at the end of the season, if Karim Benzema stays at the club. He’s made it clear that he wants to play more first team football on a regular basis but Arsenal face apparent competition from Manchester United if they want him.

Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)

Lacazette is a forward who Arsenal have also been linked with for a significant period of time. However, the latest reports suggest that Serie A giants Juventus could come into the equation to sign him after he refused to rule out a move to Turin.

“Would I like to play for Juventus? I’d be a liar if I said no. I’m tempted to try and experience abroad at a big club. And Juventus are one of the greatest clubs in Europe,” he was quoted earlier this week.

Mirko Vucinic (Juventus)

Vucinic has been linked with Arsenal for several months after he first appeared as a potential stopgap measure for Arsene Wenger. Arsenal are reportedly still keeping a firm eye on the 30-year-old’s situation in Italy and while he’d be a solid signing, he’s not the marquee striker signing Arsenal fans would have been hoping for.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen (Monchengladbach)

Arsenal have emerged as a possible club for the talented German based goalkeeper following the news of the transfer ban imposed on Barcelona. Ter Stegen had been strongly linked with a move to the Spanish champions as a replacement for Victor Valdes, which now isn’t possible until 2015.
