Man City to offer fringe forward to land Dutch midfielder – report

The Etihad Stadium outfit have an eye on Jordy Clasie and will offer John Guidetti as a tempter to Feyenoord.

With Gareth Barry on loan at Everton and likely to leave Manchester City in the summer and the futures of Javi Garcia and Jack Rodwell the source of consistent questioning, Manuel Pellegrini’s side are likely to look for new central midfielders this summer.

A rumbling in the The Sentinel has indicated that the Manchester club have one eye on Feyenoord and Netherlands enforcer Jordy Clasie, who has been impressing in the Eredivisie.

The report claims that City are willing to offer John Guidetti as part of the deal to bring Clasie to England.

The Swedish forward spent the 2011-12 season on loan at the Dutch side, scoring 20 Eredivisie goals in 23 appearances for the Rotterdam outfit.

Currently on loan at Stoke, the Scandinavian forward is in dire need of regular football, but it looks like he may have to leave the Premier League to get it.

Clasie, 22, is the captain of Feyenoord and has been capped seven times by his country.

He is the poster boy for a young generation of players coming through the ranks at Feyenoord and is adjudged as one of the brightest prospects in Dutch football.

City have already pilfered a young talent from the Dutch side in the recent past, with Rodney Kongolo agreeing to leave the Feyenoord youth ranks to sign a professional contract with the English side.

As such, it looks extremely unlikely that Guidetti will extend his time at Stoke for any longer than the current season.
