Arsene Wenger may miss out on Alexandre Lacazette if he opts to sign Mirko Vucinic.
Arsenal could inadvertently cost themselves a chance of signing Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon if they opt for the experience of Mirko Vucinic from Juventus.
Lacazette has been linked with three big European sides; Arsenal, Liverpool and the Serie A giants as he seems set for a move away from Ligue One football this summer.
Should Arsenal move for Vucinic, a well respected, experienced and professional forward, they will help to create a squad space in the Juventus first team which will make the Italian team more likely to go after the 22-year-old who has 20 goals so far this season.
It’s a catch 22 situation for Arsene Wenger because he needs arguably two strikers to come into his squad over the summer ahead of next season.
Fans will be hoping for a marquee signing, a striker who Wenger will spend big to get and then another forward who can come in and provide support to that player as well as Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski.
Lacazette has already admitted that he’d find it difficult to turn down a move to Juventus if the opportunity came about so Wenger needs to decide who he wants more of the reports of interest in both Vucinic and Lacazette are accurate.
It’s doubtful Lacazette will want to go to a club where he’d be a back up player and not a first team regular, which would definitely be the case if Wenger goes for that marquee signing as one of his first transfers this summer.
What makes a move for Vucinic more likely is the length of time that Arsenal have been linked with the Montenegrin, which suggests the boss has been keeping an eye on him for an extended period of time.
Wenger can opt for a player with experience or one of the most talented players in France but either way he’ll miss out on a good player.
