Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Paulinho told where to improve, is this Lloris' replacement?

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs head coach Tim Sherwood has addressed Paulinho’s concerns that he’s not playing enough in the first team.

Paulinho recently urged his boss to start using him more but Sherwood has revealed the Brazilian needs to buck up his ideas in training.

“I pick players on what they are doing in training, not on reputations and price tags - He knows if he trains well and plays well, he stays in the side,” Sherwood told the press.

Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall has refused to be drawn on a summer move to Tottenham.

Marshall has emerged as a candidate to potentially replace Hugo Lloris if Daniel Levy commissions a move for Spurs’ current number one.

“My personal career does not really come into it - I will be concentrating now on keeping Cardiff up. We’ve got a huge game coming up,” he’s quoted by the Express.

Spurs continue to be boosted in their apparent pursuit of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian has been heavily linked with a switch to White Hart Lane this summer.

Reports continue to flood in suggesting Jose Mourinho is willing to let Lukaku leave if he gets decent striker replacements in at Chelsea this summer.
