Dorin Rotariu's career is at a crossroads regarding who should be his agent after his last one was imprisoned and his latest deemed not fit for purpose.
18-year-old winger-come-striker Dorin Rotariu has had something of a breakthrough year at Dinamo Bucharest.
The talent, dubbed ‘Van Persie’ among his peers because of his vicious left-foot strike, has been finding the net regularly this term.
He stated to the Romanian press:
"Mourinho knows him, and Villa-Boas knows him, and David Moyes. He is the first on the list when Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United are looking for youth."
It was then later reported that United were considering a £3 million bid for the player - as he continued to impress this season.
But Rotariu’s career is taking a rather bizarre twist.
It was reported in early March that the attacker had broken his association with Ioan Becali after he was sentenced to six years imprisonment - along with his brother Victor Becali, sentenced to serve eight years, for their part in the recent ‘Dosarul Transferurilor’ scandal in Romania.
So Rotariu went on to sign a deal with Anamaria Prodan - the wife of Steaua Bucharest manager Laurentiu Reghecampf.
She also happens to be a former topless model and star of a reality TV show with her former Bundesliga player husband.
But the bosses at Dinamo are not pleased at this association - giving the close links his new agent has with their fiercest rivals.
And it was confirmed today that Rotariu was seeking a cancellation of the deal - but faces a termination fee of €300k.
"Rotariu made a request; he wants to break the contract with Anamaria Prodan. Has a termination clause of € 300,000, some say it's unfair, committees will decide. [Dinamo Bucharest president] Ionut Negoiţă will do anything possible to break the contract.”
Rotariu is currently in limbo as to who can serve his best interests - and with no arrangement seemingly on the horizon a move away in the summer seems unlikely for the ’Romanian Van Persie.’
