Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi's complete economic value has reached a stunning £400m, according to a leading sports marketing agency.
The Argentine marksman is the only four-time Balon d'Or winner and despite losing out to Cristiano Ronaldo this time around remains one of football's most marketable faces.
This value combines Messi's transfer value and the income he can generate through publicity and sponsorship deals.
Despite Messi being investigated for tax evasion in a high-profile case launched last year, his value has increased by £68m from the last valuation in July 2013.
The World Cup in Brazil this summer is likely to help increase Messi's marketability still further depending on how Argentina get on.
Messi has been busy spending some of his money over the last few weeks, purchasing a luxury villa on Lake Como in Italy located near the villa that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho sold a few months ago.
