Massive Arsenal injury boost as Wenger confirms Ramsey in contention for Sunday

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Aaron Ramsey could return from his thigh injury against Everton this weekend.

Arsenal have received a double injury boost ahead of this weekend’s crunch tie against Everton in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger has given his usual Thursday fitness report on the squad and he was very positive about his left-back Nacho Monreal.

Monreal has been out for a while now with his own niggling problems - however Arsenal fans have Kieran Gibbs and Thomas Vermaelen to cover for him, good news but not great news.

Of all the players Arsenal fans cannot wait to see return is Aaron Ramsey - and he is back.

Arsene Wenger confirmed that the Welsh international trained with the group on Thursday amid rumours he could return for the Wigan Athletic FA Cup semi-final.

But according to Wenger, he is set to return earlier - for the Everton game this Sunday:

“Aaron and Nacho Monreal are back training with the squad, so that is good news. Hopefully they will be available for Sunday. Diaby is back on the pitches, so that is good news.”

Great news for The Gunners, considering Ramsey was the star of the team at the beginning of the current campaign.

But what of the rest of the team?

Well Abou Diaby is back in training, trying to regain his full fitness, the news on Laurent Koscielny and Mesut Ozil is less promising - both could miss the FA Cup semi.

Jack Wilshere’s prognosis remains open to scepticism - Wenger saying he is simply ‘progressing well’ after his broken foot.
