Tottenham latest: club interest in CSKA Moscow striker, Adebayor keen to move on from defeat

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Thursday evening.

Tottenham are in the hunt to land CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia along with London rivals Chelsea according to TalkSport.

TalkSport cites remarks from the player's representative Malik Arutyunov which were made to Turkish radio station Radyospor.

He said: "I know that he is followed by Napoli, Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea but I cannot say any more."

Emmanuel Adebayor has said that the side must move on from the 4-0 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield last weekend, and has said that the side gets judged 'day by day, game by game'.

The striker is in line for a return for the Premier League clash against Sunderland on Monday and has told the club's website: "If we won at Anfield, people would be saying we have a great team, great personality, great team spirit but as we lost, everyone tries to look for reasons, like we’re not together as a team, that sort of thing. That’s how it is.

"We have to move on from Anfield. You can’t have good days every day. We’ve had good days, now we’re going through a difficult moment. On Monday, you’ll see a Tottenham team determined to win, playing with heart and desire."

Head Coach Tim Sherwood has said that Paulinho knows if he trains well and plays well then he will be selected to play.

Sherwood is quoted by several sources, saying: "I am going to do what is best for Tottenham, not any national manager.

"Settling into the Premier League, it’s a different game from what he has been used to. It’s very fast with no respite and we play a completely different way to the Brazil team and the team he has come from."

It has also been well reported that Romelu Lukaku's agent has confirmed talks have taken place over the striker potentially moving to White Hart Lane in the summer, but The Guardian has suggested that Christian Benteke is still on the club's radar.

Tim Sherwood's predecessor Andre Villas-Boas was believed to have been a fan and the club has kept monitoring the Aston Villa striker.
