Hoddle: Unusual Chelsea star can rival Messi and Ronaldo

Former Chelsea and Tottenham boss sang the praises of Eden Hazard last night.

Ex-England boss Glenn Hoddle has tipped Eden Hazard to go on and become one of the world's best players.

The Chelsea star has already performed to a high enough standard this season to see him topped for Player of the Year honours, but Hoddle believes he should be aiming even higher than that.

Hazard himself has spoken previously of aims to one day win the Ballon d'Or, and the former Chelsea player-manager argues that it won't be long before the Belgian is going head to head with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for individual honours.

Hoddle told SkySports: "He'll be challenging those two in two or three years to come. I'd pay money to go and see him play.

"He does things which are unusual."

Hazard scored Chelsea's first half equaliser against PSG from the penalty spot, his 17th goal of the season, and hit the post minutes later.

The Belgian however was off the pace in the second half. While he completed 88 per cent of his passes, he failed to create a single opportunity for his teammates.

Now that, for him, was unusual.
