Arsenal morning news: Aurier favourites and triple injury boost including Ramsey

News and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this morning.

Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil are said to be closing in on their comebacks from injury. The German international has been out injured since suffering a hamstring strain against Bayern Munich last month and Ramsey has not played since a thigh tear suffered on Boxing Day against West Ham United.

Ramsey is reportedly ready to rejoin training this afternoon and is reportedly ready to make his comeback against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup semi-final, while Ozil should return after the game.

Laurent Koscielny also has an outside chance of returning for the Wigan fixture.

The return of Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby to first-team action is believed to be a few weeks away yet - while Theo Walcott is still expected to miss the entire season and the World Cup with knee ligament damage.

Arsenal are said to be leading the chase for Toulouse defender Serge Aurier. The Ivory Coast international has been linked with the club for 18 months now - but this summer the Gunners might just make a move for the player.

Aurier has admitted a desire to move abroad and is equally comfortable at right or centre back - potentially making him a replacement for the apparently outgoing French international contract rebel Bacary Sagna.

Arsenal youngster Alfred Mugabo is set to be released in the summer - and is out on trial at Sheffield Wednesday at the moment attempting to earn a deal.

The Rwandan international was tipped for a future at the club a year ago by Jack Wilshere - but injury problems have stunted his progress and he is now expected to leave when his contract expires in June.
