VIDEO: £25m Manchester United midfield target proves his quality - again

AS Roma Badge

Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic has been repeatedly linked with a move to Manchester United this season, and showed his class tonight.

Pjanic, now 24, burst onto the scene with Metz back in 2007, before earning a big move to Ligue 1 giants Lyon. His performances at the Stade Gerland attracted interest from Serie A side Roma in 2011, and he has been a fixture of the first team in the Italian capital ever since.

His displays not only with Rudi Garcia's side but also with the Bosnian national team, which will make its first appearance at a World Cup this summer, have made Pjanic one of the most coveted central midfielders in European football - which has obviously resulted in him being linked with Manchester United.

The Red Devils are having a disappointing season under David Moyes and will no doubt be attacking the transfer market aggressively in the summer in a bid to overhaul a squad which looks well past its sell by date, particularly in midfield, and Pjanic was linked with £25m a move to Old Trafford in January.

Pjanic would've impressed David Moyes tonight should the United boss have been watching, as he notched an assist as well as this goal, where he timed his run into the box perfectly before sliding a composed strike past the Parma goalkeeper.
