Chelsea loanee Thibaut Courtois had another fantastic game between the sticks last night.

Belgian international shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois is certainly making a case for being the best goalkeeper in the world right now.

The Atletico Madrid loan star has been in phenomenal form for Diego Simeone’s men this season, helping the club to challenge Spain’s big two Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The amount of points Thibaut Courtois has single handedly won Atletico Madrid this season is arguably comparable to Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo or Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, such is his impact.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid’s Champions League quarter-final tie at the Nou Camp was expected to be cagey, though the visitors had to thank Courtois for ending the match in a slightly favourable position.

Diego Ribas gave the Rojiblancos a surprise lead with an absolute belter, though that only motivated the hosts to up the ante.

Despite being beaten by Neymar for Barcelona’s equaliser, Courtois was on a one-man mission to keep the scores at 1-1 by making a number of wonderful stops.

As the minutes ticked towards the 90, Thibaut Courtois’ performance had simply gotten the better of Barcelona’s forward stars – resulting in last few minutes of the game being played at near walking pace before the referee put a halt to proceedings.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will have been well-informed of his young goalkeeper’s performance, and it will surely add yet more speculation over his future.

As for the Chelsea supporters, for now, they can only watch and admire what they might get to see at Stamford Bridge in the near future.

Here are a number of Tweets regarding the Belgian’s super performance.
