Chelsea and Manchester United fight for full-back, not Luke Shaw

Manchester United and Chelsea look to be scouring alternatives to Southampton's Luke Shaw, as both clubs go head-to-head for FC Porto's Alex Sandro.

According to reports in the Daily Mirror, Manchester United and Chelsea look set to battle it out, not only for Southampton's Luke Shaw, but also for Porto left-back Alex Sandro.

The Brazilian defender has reportedly emerged as David Moyes No.1 pick to replace Patrice Evra in the summer, as the future of the Frenchman still remains unclear.

Like most transfers, Manchester United aren't alone with regards to interest in the player and TalkSPORT reported Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has also setting wheels in motion to bring the Brazilian international to Stamford Bridge.

Although Chelsea are well stacked in the full-back positions at the minute, it's not unfathomable that both Ashley Cole and Ryan Bertrand (currently on-loan at Villa) will both leave the club in the summer. If that is to happen then it will undoubtedly leave a place in the squad for a left-back to come in.

The 23-year-old is reportedly available for somewhere in the region of £15million, which for either side won't be a issue. Especially Manchester United who, if reports are to be believed, will break open a £200 million war chest in order to put themselves back in title contention.
