Manchester United stars posted on social media after the draw with Bayern.
Manchester United disappointed in their last game at Old Trafford, capitulating 3-0 to City.
This time around there was only pride, among the players, fans, and even manager David Moyes could have plenty to smile about.
Sure, it could easily have been better, but after former defender Gary Neville had urged a night earlier simply to get a result to 'take the tie to Munich' in the second leg, a 1-1 draw certainly was not bad.
The away goal was a disappointment, while United could easily have had another of their own. They edged the shots on target count by 4-3, but Bayern actually had 16 total shots on goal to United's 6.
There were several other statistical differentials which exposed the gaps between the teams, Bayern had 74% of possession to United's 26%, while they completed 91% of their passes - United, just 66%.
Another night, United may have wilted under that pressure, but on this occasion, they rallied through - and the players were in no doubt who was responsible; the fans for spurring them on.
Here is a look at how the United players reacted on Twitter after the 90 minutes were up...
