Manchester United scouts to watch €90m pair and £7.4m flop this weekend

Sporting Lisbon Nextgen

United scouts are set to check out William Carvalho and Carlos Mane of Sporting Lisbon on Saturday night. But will also keep an eye on Bebe.

Manchester United are looking to have a much more productive transfer window this summer then they did a year ago - and one name that appears set to dominate the rumour and gossip columns for the next couple of months is Portuguese midfielder William Carvalho.

In Portugal it has been reported for a while that this deal is a likely one for the summer - and last month the Sunday People suggested the deal is 100% done.

The report stated that United had agreed a €45 million fee with Sporting Lisbon for the 21-year-old - meeting his release clause. It also claims he had a tour of the Carrington training ground and would join up with his new team after the World Cup in Brazil!

And he is not the only Sporting Lisbon player attracting interest. Young starlet Carlos Mane is quickly emerging as one of the country’s top young talents - and like Carvalho reportedly has a €45 million release clause in his current deal.

With that in mind Manchester United are obviously keeping tabs on the players - and according to Portuguese publication O Jogo scouts will be in attendance this weekend to check them out in action.

But there will also be a third player under the watchful eye of United scouts.

Infamous flop Bebe!

The £7.4 million flop never lived up to the potential that fee commanded - and has been loaned out to Besiktas, Rio Ave and, this season, Pacos de Ferreira.

And after a difficult start things have recently turned for the better - as Bebe has started scoring wondergoals on a weekly basis.

At the weekend it was a 35-yeard free-kick worldy that did the trick - taking his tally to seven goals in his last ten games.

Such form has obviously not gone unnoticed at his parent club - who are now said to be ready to reconsider his once seemingly doomed Old Trafford future.

The game this Saturday is certainly one for all United fans to keep an eye on.
