Leeds United fans, at the minute, have it worse than surely any other set of football supporters in the country.
At the end of 2013, Leeds United were in fact very much in the hunt for at least a play-off place, sat seventh in the league on the same amount of points as Ipswich Town in sixth.
Since then Leeds United have picked up just 12 points from 16 games. Which if carried over the course of the season would not only mean certain relegation, but dead last position.
A staggering turn of events has led to their latest defeat against Charlton receiving a huge fan backlash. In the aftermath of which, no person connected to the club was free from abuse, with Ross McCormack's wife even having to deal with abusive comments.
'Fans' who tweet me abuse about Ross - have a serious word with yourselves! Not one of u will be more gutted & angry as he is tonight!— Courtney St John (@CourtneyStJohn) April 1, 2014
Leeds fans, in this instance, weren't in agreement Ross McCormack was anything to do with the team's current plight. Although, it's fair to say others connected to the club didn't get the same royalties.
And how people can defend McDermott he lost the plot after the Barnsley match. Completely out of his depth. Spineless coward #lufc— Danny McKenzie (@TheRealDmac_) April 1, 2014
Is it too easy for McDermott & players to use off-field problems as a reason for all the defeats/ bad performances?— Simon Austin (@sport_simon) April 1, 2014
