Arsenal morning news: Kaboul linked and Berahino targeted

Saido Berahino

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates this morning.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Younes Kaboul is being linked with a shock switch to The Emirates this morning.

The Frenchman is said to be considering following in the footsteps of Sol Campbell by switching North London rivals for free in the summer.

His contract expires in June and he is close pals of Arsenal star Abou Diaby - so watch this space.

The man he is being linked with replacing is club captain Thomas Vermaelen - he has found himself on the fringes of first-team action for the majority of the current season.

And he has been talking about the future of his manager Arsene Wenger - insisting there is nobody at the club that would like to see the back of the Frenchman:

"Everybody wants him to stay as long as he can. He's been incredible, what he's done for this club and for the players as well. We would be really happy for him signing on for a few more years."

Arsenal are said to be one team monitoring the situation of Saido Berahino at West Brom after he was involved in a dressing room bust up at the weekend.

He was reportedly punched by team-mate James Morrison after he gave away possession in the final third late in the game v Cardiff - from which Mats Daehli scored a late equaliser.

Chelsea and Everton are also keen.
