Lacazette’s Lyon will take on the Italian champions on Thursday when the sides meet for the first leg of their Europa League quarter-finals tie at the Stade Gerland.
The Frenchman has enjoyed a successful campaign for the club he joined as a 12-year-old in 2003 - hitting 14 goals in 29 Ligue 1 appearances to date.
Even as he’ll face Juventus later this week, however, Lacazette has conceded that he would be thrilled to pull on the Bianconeri shirt in the future.
“Juventus are the most successful club in Italian football,” the 22-year-old told Tuttosport. “So of course, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to play for them."
But Lacazette also noted that it’s not only the Serie A champions that captivate his interest. This despite the fact that he remains focused on his current employers.
“I am attracted to the big clubs and would love to play abroad.
“But right now I am thinking about scoring goals for Lyon, and my job is to try to do that against Juventus tomorrow.”
Good news for Arsenal and Liverpool? Indeed, if their interest in Lacazette is genuine.
His words show that he is ready to move on to a European giant if one comes calling - and not just Juventus.
Whether that happens this summer, we’ll have to wait and see. But his admission should have top clubs on alert for a player who looks to have a bright future.
