Toni Kroos played at Old Trafford last night, but was it the prelude to more regular appearances?
The midfielder's contract is up at Bayern Munich in June 2015, and the German side are attempting to tie him down to a new deal.
Manchester United's interest in him is no secret, with David Moyes pictured with Kroos' agent in January.
He played his part in the 1-1 draw in Manchester last night, completing an impressive 96 per cent of his passes during the contest.
After the game he was quizzed about the experience, a personal exchange detailed on Twitter by Sky Germany pundit and former footballer Jan Aage Fjortoft.
Me:How did you like Old Trafford? Kroos:Liked it a lot.Great atmosphere Me:The chances u will play a LOT more here He:Future I decide later— Jan Aage Fjortoft (@JanAageFjortoft) April 1, 2014
Kroos' response certainly keeps the transfer game guessing, because the signs were earlier in the week that a decision may have been made.
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rumminegge and manager Pep Guardiola both stated quite assertively that Kroos would be playing in Munich next season.
Were they just putting pressure on Kroos? It's likely, and now experiencing the big games under the lights at Old Trafford will have given the German international something extra to consider.
This one is likely to run and run, and Kroos does not appear on the same wavelength as his manager regarding his future just yet at least.
