Match to be played on Wednesday March 2 2014 at 19:45 GMT. Venue: Stamford Bridge, London.
Chelsea will be determined to bounce back from defeat to Crystal Palace when they take on Paris Saint-Germain in France tomorrow night.
In arguably the most even of the quarter-final ties, Chelsea will be looking for a solid and professional tactical display as they try and take an advantage back to Stamford Bridge for the second leg.
Here’s the side Mourinho could opt for tomorrow night.
GK – Petr Cech
The Czech goalkeeper is one of the most reliable players that the Blues have in their backline, he’ll start in goal as an important experienced figure.
RB – Branislav Ivanovic
Ivanovic has been Mourinho’s primary right-back throughout the season and he should keep his place. He needs to be solid in all aspects.
CB – Gary Cahill
Cahill has been a solid and consistent defender for Chelsea this season. He’s good in the air and quick, which will help him against the huge duo of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani.
CB – John Terry
Mourinho knows Terry will and will most likely want to keep him in the side, as he’ll surely be determined to make up for his own goal against Crystal Palace.
LB – Cesar Azpilicueta
One of the most underrated defenders in the Premier League. He seems to thrive in big matches and should make it difficult for PSG to break through on that side.
RM – Andre Schurrle
The German will probably just keep his place because he’s likely to work a bit harder than Willian over on the right.
DM – David Luiz
Mourinho could use Luiz in a defensive midfield role because he also has that ability to drop into the defensive line if PSG really start to get on top during the game.
CM – Ramires
He’s been suspended domestically which means he’ll be fresh and ready to come back into the team. Another player who can play defensively if needed.
AM – Oscar
Oscar should play at the very top of the midfield in behind the main striker. The Blues can use him as an outlet to start attacks quickly.
LM – Eden Hazard
Hazard will be looking to excel against the side tipped to sign him this summer. He’s been arguably Chelsea’s most important player so far this season.
ST – Fernando Torres
The Spaniard should keep his place in the team with Eto’o still carrying the effects of a hamstring problem. He’s thrived on big European away occasions like this in the past.
