Manchester City latest: Aguero on injury; defender reveals he considered exit

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Manchester City defender Aleksandar Kolarov has admitted that he considered leaving the club last summer.

In quotes published by the Daily Star, the Serbian full-back said, “Last season I was thinking, because I didn’t play a lot, it was maybe a good thing for me to move.

“I had a couple of opportunities but I refused everything because I didn’t want to go from here, (having not) shown the people what I can do.

“Now this season I have had this opportunity and shown what I can do. For me it’s like a victory, personally, for myself.”

With 37 appearances for the Blues to date this season, and having scored four goals and provided eight assists, it is clear he is relishing his time on the pitch under Manuel Pellegrini.

In other news, the Daily Mail reports that Sergio Aguero will wait until he is confident he has fully recovered from his injury before putting himself back in first-team contention.

The Argentine ace is currently out with a hamstring injury, but he told DirecTV, “With this recovery I am trying to do my best to be able to play again, but I cannot do it in a hurry.

“I do think to myself if something happens now, I will lose the rest of the Premier League season and the World Cup.”

With that in mind, do not expect to see Aguero back until he is 100% ready.

And finally, City midfielder James Milner has been getting involved in the Premier League Players’ Kit Scheme, which gives junior teams much-needed strips and allows them to apply for new kits online.

Speaking to the Premier League’s official website, Milner said, “I have experienced myself how a new kit can have a big impact on someone who loves football. But for kids who are not into football or are into fashion, a new school kit might give them an incentive to get into football.”
