CONFIRMED: Manchester United v Bayern Munich line-ups - Fernand and Vidic in central defence!

Inside Old Trafford

Here are the line-ups for Manchester United and Bayern Munich this evening. Kick-off from Old Trafford at 19:45 GMT.

Manchester United: De Gea, Jones, Ferdinand, Vidic, Büttner, Valencia, Carrick, Fellaini, Giggs, Rooney, Welbeck

Subs: Lindegaard, Hernandez, Nani, Young, Fletcher, Januzaj, Kagawa

Bayern Munich: Neuer, Rafinha, Martinez, Boateng, Alaba, Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Ribery, Kroos, Robben, Müller

Subs: Starke, van Buyten, Mandzukińá, Shaqiri, Pizarro, Götze, Hojbjerg

In effect this is a very decent tie for United because no one is giving them any hope of going through to the last four.

They can go out and play a brand of care free attacking football and if they get picked off and well beaten, that’s what everyone expected to happen.

David Moyes’ men go into the game off the back of an impressive win last weekend against Aston Villa in the Premier League and they will be looking to create momentum heading into the second leg in Germany.

For Bayern, the league title has been wrapped up and this is the next major trophy that they will be looking to win.

They can make history if they retain the European Cup this year and they’ve played some solid and efficient attacking football, which has been impressive to watch so far in the competition.
