This season hasn't worked out as planned for Roma forward Adem Ljajic and according to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero he is getting ready to leave the Eternal City.
The 22-year-old joined from Fiorentina last summer for a fee of around £9m after an excellent campaign for the Tuscans.
But this term Ljajic has struggled to convince coach Rudi Garcia that he should be a regular in the first team.
With Roma flying high without him, Il Messaggero claims that the Serbian star has become tired of being behind Michel Bastos and a rejuvenated Rodrigo Taddei in the pecking order and refers to his exit as 'inevitable'.
Ljajic is notoriously fiery in temperament and famously clashed with coach Delio Rossi when he was substituted while playing for Fiorentina against Novara.
The gifted youngster sarcastically applauded Rossi as he left the field and Rossi attempted to punch him, leading the coach's dismissal.
Liverpool are known to be keen on Ljajic and there have been rumours in the Italian press that the Premier League leaders are lining up a bid of around £8m.
