£26m Spurs striker quashes rumours and vows club will fight on

Christian Eriksen and Soldado Spurs

Roberto Soldado took to Instagram last night to deny rumours regarding a dressing room bust-up.

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a miserable Sunday afternoon as they were heavily at Anfield 4-0 by a rampant Liverpool side.

The North Londoners looked out of sorts from the kick-off, and Younes Kaboul’s own goal set the theme for the rest of the game.

To add insult to injury, Tottenham’s expensive striker Roberto Soldado was rather ineffective and was later stretchered off the field after picking up an injury.

A heavy defeat and an injury to a first-team player was not what Spurs had hoped for. Yet, their afternoon somehow got worse following the rumours on Twitter that boss Tim Sherwood had inexplicably punched one of the Spurs stars in the dressing room after the game.

It remains to be seen where the rumours had come from, though Roberto Soldado has since taken to Instagram to lament his team’s display and quash the false rumours.

He said: “Bad game today and our options to reach Champions League decrease!”

“It is time now, more than ever, to fight together. Rumours do not benefit at all, and everything that has been said is absolutely false, COYS!”

With Spurs lying in sixth spot in the Premier League and eight points behind Arsenal in fourth, immediate attentions will have turned to repairing the damage and at least securing a top six spot.

Will Tottenham Hotspur finish in the top six this season?
