RBS in talks to poach C Suisse senior banker

Royal Bank of Scotland is in advanced talks to poach one of the investment bankers who advised on the bank's bailout strategy as its new chief financial officer.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Ewen Stevenson, currently co-head of Credit Suisse's investment banking unit in Europe, Middle East and Africa, is in negotiations to join the bank, Sky News has reported.

The move will end a search by headhunters to replace Nathan Bostock, who quit in December as group finance director after just 10 weeks in the job. RBS and Credit Suisse declined to comment.

Bostock replaced Bruce van Saun, who moved to his native US to prepare the bank’s Citizens subsidiary for a sale process. However, last week Citizens failed a US stress test, potentially delaying its flotation or sale.
