Manchester United have been handed a potential boost ahead of the Bayern Munich match with Jonny Evans returning to training.
Evans has been out injured for two months, injured against Stoke City on February 1 in the 2-1 loss at the Britannia.
The centre-back has been nursing his calf injury ever since, but was pictured today back in full training with the first team squad ahead of the Bayern clash.
Chris Smalling was back in training too, meaning David Moyes has a full complement of centre-backs to choose from, including Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Phil Jones.
Evans may therefore not expect to go straight back into the first team, but a spot could open up for him due to Rafael da Silva missing training. The Brazilian is hoping to be back to take on Bayern, but should he miss out, either Jones or Smalling could shift to right-back, while Jones remains an option should Moyes decide to pack the midfield.
Should the match with Bayern be too soon, Evans is likely to play an important role in the Premier League run-in, as David Moyes seeks to assess his centre-backs ahead of next season with Nemanja Vidic's departure confirmed.
Evans has scored twice for United this season, once against Sunderland in the League Cup, and against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.
