Manchester United beat Aston Villa 4-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday.

A brace from Wayne Rooney in the first half saw the Red Devils go on to score another two goals in the second half via Juan Mata and Javier Hernandez.

The flypass protest went ahead over Old Trafford during the win over the Villains but David Moyes remained ‘defiant’ over his future at the Premier League champions.

Moyes said: "I just wanted everybody to know I'm the manager and you know where I am - standing at the side of the pitch every week, that's my job."

Manchester Unite take on Bayern Munich on Tuesday night at Old Trafford for the first leg in the quarterfinals of the Champions League against the German giants.

In team news, fullback Rafael missed training today ahead of the Red Devils showdown with the Bundesliga champions. The Brazilian right back’s absence could mean one of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones or even Antonio Valencia may have to fill in against Franck Ribery.

Veteran midfielder Ryan Giggs insists he is ‘relishing’ the challenge of the Champions League holders in the quarterfinals.

"You need to play well, to get that little bit of luck,” explained the Welsh ace.

“We’re confident. We are Manchester United, and at Old Trafford we have had so many great nights."

Meanwhile, Arjen Robben has warned his teammates that United are ‘capable’ of beating the European champions.

"You only need to get distracted for a second and you lose against Manchester United," said the former Chelsea winger.

"If you lose concentration and lose the ball, then you get punished there."

In transfer news, reports continue that David Moyes will spend £200 million in a ‘squad overhaul’ this summer.
