Liverpool beat Tottenham 4-0 to surge to the top of the Premier League table.

Former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon hit out at Tottenham's Anfield display yesterday, summing up their disappointing performance in just two words, and Liverpool's in one.

Tottenham looked like a beaten team almost from the first whistle, but just how bad was their display?

Shots on goal

Spurs managed four shots on target from 15 attempts, but this was actually double the amount of efforts on target than they have managed in four games this season, each of which have come in 2014 under Tim Sherwood.

Possession

Tottenham managed to hold just 41 per cent of possession against Liverpool, struggling to get a foothold in the game. This was surprisingly not their lowest of the campaign, even winning the game at Old Trafford in which they held less.

Tackling

Linked to their lack possession, Tottenham equalled a season low in terms of tackles won this campaign, just 10 across the entire match.

So was it their worst display of the season? It's certainly up there, but only because Spurs have had so many performances of this calibre in 2013/14. There's no escaping that Dixon's 'very poor' assessment is spot on, and arguably too kind.
