Bayern Munich manager says he is in awe of the Reds.
He said: "They [Liverpool] are [playing] awesome."
"I'm happy Liverpool are coming back. It'll be good for the Champions League next season."
The former Barcelona boss was speaking at his press conference ahead of Munich's European Cup's tie with Manchester United tomorrow night.
It should come as no surprise to hear Guardiola speak highly of Liverpool since he can probably recognise a lot of Brendan Rodger's playing style and philosophy in his own teams, especially those from Barcelona.
The intensity and aggression, with and without the ball, are after all their hallmarks and Liverpool have reflected such qualities in abundance this season.
These type of methods and ways of working gave Barca the necessary platform for success and Liverpool will hope it can do the same for them.
A Premier League title triumph would certainly vindicate the patience fans have shown for the time it has taken for Rodgers to implement similar ideals across his side.
Are there parallels between this Liverpool team the Barcelona vintage?
