Inter have already pounced for Patrice Evra's Manchester United teammate Nemanja Vidic and are reportedly attempting to add the Frenchman to the ranks.
Evra will be out of contract in the summer and hasn't decided whether he would be open to staying at Old Trafford.
Inter director Piero Ausilio has been spotted in England watching Evra in action and the possibility of a swoop has been mooted by the Italian press on many occasions.
Roma are also said to be keeping an eye on Evra as they look to consolidate their position as Scudetto contenders next season.
"Having spoken to him I understand that technically Serie A is an option," he revealed.
"He is very tied to United even if things have changed a little recently but in any case no definite decision has been made yet."
Evra has experience of playing in Italy. In fact he started his professional career at Sicilian lower league club Marsala and moved on to Serie B Monza where he caught the attention of Nice.
