Not for the first time, Liverpool fans read reports this weekend linking them with Lazio midfielder Antonio Candreva.
The Express reported that the Reds were one of three Premier League clubs - along with Manchester United and Arsenal - who were keeping tabs on the Italian's situation in Serie A, where he is part-owned by Udinese with negotiations for a smooth separation reportedly someway from amicable.
At 27, Candreva may be older than the players the Reds are currently considering, but he showed again on Sunday just why there is so much buzz around him.
Lazio looked like easing their way to a 2-1 victory at home to Parma before the ball crept through Federico Marchetti's legs with just nine minutes of normal-time to play.
But with that well and truly up, and three minutes of injury-time already on the clock, Candreva burst into the penalty area to score.
That strike made it eight for the season, and he celebrated as if it was a trophy-winning strike. So while he may not fit into the Reds' age-range when it comes to incoming transfers, he has plenty to offer whichever club does have him on board next season.
