One area of reported concern for Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers this summer is the left-back position.
With that in mind Liverpool are said to be looking at Sporting Lisbon full-back Marcos Rojo.
Liverpool scouts reportedly 'observed' him in action against Maritimo last weekend and are now said to have him as a ‘priority’ for the summer.
Rojo, an Argentine international, has been in sensational form for the Portuguese club this campaign - and he was the subject of a failed bid from Fulham in January.
Interest is also reported from Manchester United as well as Italian sides Roma, Inter Milan and Napoli.
And yesterday he showed a side of his game that is quite rare - the goalscoring side.
Rojo swivelled on the spot and slammed home a shot right-footed beyond the Vitoria Guimares goalkeeper in a 1-0 victory - a win that keeps Sporting in the title race.
Here are the highlights from the game in which Rojo was the hero.
A few months ago his agent Carlos Goncalves spoke exclusively to TMW - and admitted his client and he were both flattered by such transfer talk:
"It is pleasing that the boy is appreciated by the big clubs of international importance, but at the moment there is nothing concrete…it is not the right time to talk about the future of Rojo…until June (after World Cup) but we do not want to hear about the future. He has a contract until 2016 with Sporting in the summer we will see further developments in key markets…Yes (he has a clause in his contract), it is affordable for a top club."
