United morning news: Fergie's fledglings tipped to leave coaching set-up

A select round-up of news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United’s players gave an emphatic response to those fans who paid for a protest plane to fly over Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Their 4-1 victory over Aston Villa gave David Moyes a much needed home win and eased the pressure at least a tad as the side prepare for their Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

By despite having the backing of his predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson, the Daily Mail reports that the older of the Scots will not have any say on Moyes’ long-term future.

The paper claims the current United boss knows his fate lies firmly in the hands of the club’s owners the Glazers.

In other news, the Express reports that there will not only be changes on the pitch next season, but in the coaching set-up as well, with Ryan Giggs tipped to depart.

The Welshman was always likely to hang up his boots at the end of the current campaign, but the paper claims Giggs will consider his future this summer.

The same report raises doubts over the future of first-team coach and former United player Phil Neville.
