PICTURE: Chelsea player reveals his sporting idol is not a footballer

Currently on loan at Everton, Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has posted a message about his sporting idol.

Romelu Lukaku is enjoying another fine season on loan.  After a prolific and effective spell at West Bromwich Albion in the previous campaign, the Belgian international is continuing his footballing education in some style at Everton.

Considering how Chelsea's front-men faltered against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, and with Lukaku having already scored 13 goals for the Toffees this season, there is an argument to be had as to why the 20-year-old is not currently at Stamford Bridge.  But that is for another article.

For now Lukaku will be focused on Everton's match against Fulham on Sunday, and in the build-up to that match he took to Instagram to post a picture of Kobe Bryant, with the accompanying message:

'My biggest idol in sports.  He knows how to put the work in!  He's a leader, winner and a great example.'

The Los Angeles Lakers basketball player is now 35 years old, but it is clear he is still an inspiration for one of football's brightest young striking talents.  And if Lukaku is still performing at the highest level in 15 years, he will have done something right.

The only question is, will he get that chance at Chelsea?
