The title-race may look like being over from an Arsenal perspective (although don’t tell Mathieu Flamini that) but at least they put up a fight in yesterday’s game against Manchester City.
Defeats by the scoreline of 6-3, 5-1 and 6-0 should not be commonplace in games of this magnitude - but those are of course the final scores from recent games against City, Liverpool and Chelsea respectively.
So it was good to see them having a real go at City yesterday - and another fan who was watching the action happened to be Arsenal’s record signing.
Mesut Ozil’s Arsenal career stalled in 2014 with poor form attributed to fatigue taking over - ultimately culminating in a hamstring injury against Bayern Munich which is set to rule him out until the end of April at best.
But he has not forgotten about his Gunners.
He watched the game yesterday - and was vocal in his support via Twitter, clearly overcome with glee when Mathieu Flamini bagged the equaliser.

So while Arsenal fans would of course prefer to see him on the pitch for now he will have to lay the role of Arsenal’s most expensive fan.
