Chelsea morning news: £27m Shaw 'hijacked' and Cole could earn £8m in Spain

All the latest news and gossip from Stamford Bridge this morning.

Chelsea have no chance of winning the Premier League title according to manager Jose Mourinho. The Blues lost to Crystal Palace yesterday 1-0 - leaving them top of the table but with games on Liverpool and Manchester City chasing:

“I think now we have lost any chance of finishing first. Now we depend too much on other results. Too much. When you depend a little it's possible, but when you depend a lot, I don't think it is.”

Manchester United are reportedly set to hijack Chelsea’s interest in Southampton left-back Luke Shaw.

The England international is reportedly Chelsea’s first choice to take over from Ashley Cole at left-back for the club.

United are reportedly set to offer The Saints a whopping £27 million for the talented teenager - and despite Shaw’s apparent preference to play for his boyhood favourite club Southampton may have already accepted United’s offer before Chelsea get involved.

Sticking with left-back news it is reported that Real Madrid will offer Ashley Cole a whopping £8 million deal to leave The Blues for the Bernabeu in the summer.

Cole’s deal at Stamford Bridge expires this summer and Carlo Ancelotti wants to reunite with the player he had whilst Chelsea boss between 2009 and 2011.
