Jon Flanagan is proving to be one of Liverpool's biggest success stories in a season full of them.
His committed performances up and down the flanks have seen Liverpool fans dub him the 'Red Cafu', after the two-time Brazilian World Cup winner of 1994 and 2002.
The former Roma ace is now retired, but still keeps his eye on football, as illustrated by his comment on Twitter during Liverpool's 4-0 win over Tottenham.
Good to see the RedCafu is playing well! Liverpool amazing to watch!— Cafu. (@officialcafu) March 30, 2014
Cafu went onto add that he was so inspired by Liverpool's 'amazing' performances, that he was even planning a trip to Anfield, and gave his view on their title chances.
I will need to come to Anfield this season or next season, perhaps for a Liverpool v Chelsea game.— Cafu. (@officialcafu) March 30, 2014
Can Liverpool win the league? I think maybe... Chelsea are very strong but in a storm right now. City have a big squad.— Cafu. (@officialcafu) March 30, 2014
Today, I now know what scouser means!— Cafu. (@officialcafu) March 30, 2014
Jon Flanagan was making his 17th Premier League start of the season and has turned into an undroppable figure for Liverpool. Against Spurs he provided his first assist of the campaign, adding to the goal he scored against Tottenham in December.
